WSAVA Foundation Launches African Small Companion Animal Network (AFSCAN)

AFSCAN’s goal is to support small animal veterinarians across Africa by harnessing global support to help create local associations and networks. Ultimately, these networks will help to advance the veterinary profession across the continent in a sustainable way. We will achieve this by initiating activities in key areas, including:

  • Grant funding for specific veterinary projects
  • Development of networks and resources of African veterinary researchers
  • Support for existing and coordination of new rabies control projects
  • Expansion of training and CE programmes for veterinary professionals
  • Monitoring of infectious and parasitic diseases in companion animals

AFSCAN is supported by a Consortium and by the global animal health company Zoetis. We will continue our quest for funding and co-operation opportunities with current and future Consortium members in pursuit of project goals.
